Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: April 30, 2026
The GarageKeep Review is reader-supported. This page explains exactly how, in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guides and the terms of the affiliate programs we participate in.
The Short Version
Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission. This costs you nothing extra. The price you pay is the same as it would be if you went directly to the retailer’s site.
We do not accept payment for placement, sponsored rankings, or editorial influence. Our recommendations reflect our own independent analysis, not which brand pays the highest commission.
Amazon Associates Program
The GarageKeep Review is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
What this means in practice:
- When you click a link on our site that goes to Amazon, that link contains a tracking parameter that identifies us as the referring site
- If you complete a purchase on Amazon within 24 hours of clicking that link, Amazon pays us a small percentage of the sale (typically 1% to 4.5%, depending on the product category)
- The commission is paid by Amazon, not by you. The price you pay is identical to the price any other Amazon customer would pay
- Amazon decides what counts as a “qualifying purchase” — some categories and products are excluded from the program
Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
Other Affiliate Relationships
At the time of this writing, Amazon Associates is the only affiliate program we participate in. If we add additional affiliate relationships in the future — for example, brand-direct partnerships through networks like Impact, ShareASale, CJ Affiliate, or Awin — we will:
- Update this page to disclose the new relationship
- Continue to disclose affiliate links at the top of every page that contains them
- Apply the same editorial independence standards to all partners
We will never add an affiliate relationship that compromises our editorial independence. Brands that require approval over our review content as a condition of partnership are declined.
How Affiliate Links Are Marked
Affiliate links on our site are identified in two ways:
- At the page level. Every page that contains affiliate links displays a disclosure banner at the top of the page, before any affiliate link appears
- At the link level. Affiliate links are tagged with
rel="sponsored nofollow"HTML attributes, which signals to search engines and to readers using accessibility tools that the link is a paid placement
These markings comply with both FTC guidelines and Google’s search engine guidance for affiliate content.
What Affiliate Income Does Not Mean
Affiliate income funds the operation of this site. It does not change what we recommend.
Specifically:
- We do not rank products by commission rate. Our editorial framework (construction quality, modular interoperability, finish durability, ten-year cost) is applied identically regardless of whether a brand has an affiliate program
- We recommend brands without affiliate programs. Some of the manufacturers we cover — including several mentioned by name in our reviews — do not have affiliate programs at all. We still recommend them when they are the right answer
- We disclose when we cannot be objective. If a relationship, gift, or arrangement creates a conflict of interest on a specific review, we will disclose that conflict on that review’s page
Why We Do This
A site that hides how it makes money is a site you should not trust. The garage storage industry is full of sites that take payment to publish “reviews,” promote products without disclosure, and accept brand-supplied content as if it were editorial.
We chose the affiliate model precisely because it lets us be transparent. We earn money only when readers find our recommendations useful enough to act on. If our recommendations are bad, readers stop coming, and we stop earning. That alignment is the point.
Your Rights as a Reader
You are never under any obligation to purchase anything through our affiliate links. If you prefer not to use them, you can:
- Search for the product directly on Amazon or on the manufacturer’s website
- Use a different retailer altogether
- Note the brand and model from our reviews and purchase wherever you prefer
Doing any of the above costs us a small amount of revenue. It costs you nothing. We would rather you make the purchase decision that’s right for you than feel any obligation to support us through clicks.
Questions or Concerns
